The Dera Baba Nanak Kartarpur Terminal in Gurdaspur, Punjab, serves as the official immigration checkpoint for Indian pilgrims traveling to the Kartarpur Sahib Gurdwara in Pakistan via the Kartarpur Corridor.

The terminal and corridor had to be built within 10 months to be ready for Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s 550th birth anniversary on November 9, 2019.
Coordination between India and Pakistan was critical, as both sides had to complete their respective portions on time.

Fast-tracked construction: The Government of India prioritized this project, deploying over 600 workers and using a 24×7 work schedule.
Multiple agencies working in parallel: Land acquisition, road construction, bridge development, and security infrastructure were handled simultaneously to speed up completion.
Use of prefabricated structures: Pre-engineered buildings were installed to reduce on-site work time.
